The Census 2000 Special EEO File contains data for each of the 50 states and the
District of Columbia. It also contains data for redefined Metropolitan
Statistical Areas and new Micropolitan Statistical Areas. Data for all
individual counties are no longer available, instead, "county sets" have been
created. County sets may contain a single county or groups of counties
whose combined population is 50,000 or more. These
changes have been made by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget's and took
effect June 6, 2003.
You can review a list of geographic area available for each state by select one of the topics below: Metropolitan Statistical Areas have at least one urbanized area of 50,000 or more population. Micropolitan Statistical Areas are smaller than Metropolitan Statistical Area and have at least one urbanized area of at least 10,000 but less than 50,000 population. County Sets: are individual counties with populations over 50,000 or are combined smaller counties who's combined population is 50,000 or more. Combined Statistical Areas are combinations of Metropolitan statistical areas and/or Micropolitan statistical areas.
